About Robin
Robin Kennedy currently serves as Executive Manager of Strategic Partnerships at KHON2. Kicking off her career over two decades ago in media and sales at ABC Television headquartered in New York, Robin’s abilities to execute have evolved into nothing short of exceptional. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an unmatched ability to grow and develop sales in new product areas. At Marcoa Publishing, Robin took over a declining sales territory and transformed it, achieving 100% growth by increasing revenue from $542,000 to $1,010,000. As Director of Sales at Cox Radio Group/New Wave Broadcasting, Robin led sales teams of up to 30 people, driving a $3 million increase in sales and positioning the company for a successful transition during its sale. Robin was able to increase sales while managing all aspects of the sales operations, including budgets, projections, and profit and loss statements. Her ability to lead both the business world and nonprofit sector demonstrates her commitment to making a positive impact on our community.
Although Robin is based in Honolulu, her ties to nonprofit organizations extend beyond the islands. Robin serves on the board of directors of Beyond The Teams, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to offer support to Veterans and their families. Through fundraising efforts, retired Navy Seals organize annual events that memorialize, support, and honor 1st responders and victims of the attacks of 9/11. Robin’s leadership in our local nonprofit sector includes serving as President of CASA Hawaii since 2010 and President of SME Honolulu since 2020.
Robin’s volunteer work, especially with CASA, involves providing advocacy and support for keiki in the foster care system. Under Robin’s leadership, the Friends of CASA Board of Directors grew in 2024. As a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) who has been involved in nearly 120 cases, some of which have taken years to resolve, Robin believes that, “all children deserve the right to grow up with hope, support, and love. This is an opportunity to change a child’s life for the better. We owe it to ourselves to give back.” Through fundraising efforts, Robin passionately works with Social Workers of the State of Hawai’i Family Courthouse to provide birthday and Christmas gifts to each foster child.

What is your preferred communication style when mentoring (in-person, video conference, phone, informal check-ins, structured meetings, etc.)?
In-Person Meeting, Honestly, whatever works for the mentee is fine with me.
Why do you want to become a mentor in this program?
I’m excited to bring my years of dedicated Digital Marketing experience to the next generation of Hawaii’s leaders.
What specific skills, knowledge or experience can you share with your mentee?
I believe I can be of greatest value to a mentee who is looking for enrichment in: sales, marketing, networking, entrepreneurship, and relationship building.
What are your expectations for a mentor-mentee relationship?
Depends on their needs and wants.
How do you approach problem-solving and conflict resolution?
I approach them fearlessly. We all have the same 24 hours in a day.
How do you envision success for your mentee, and how will you measure it during the program?
It doesn’t matter what industry or realm my mentee is in – I’m willing to help in however way that I can.
