Why do you want to become a mentor in this program?
As a business owner and co-founder of Hub Coworking, I’ve had the opportunity to help build a successful venture in Hawaii’s unique business climate. I’ve always believed in the importance of sharing knowledge and experiences, especially with the next generation of leaders. Being a mentor allows me to support young professionals in their growth, and I’m eager to contribute to a program that helps foster the entrepreneurial and professional spirit within our community
What specific skills, knowledge or experience can you share with your mentee?
I have extensive experience in strategic planning, partnerships, workspace planning, and program development, particularly in Hawaii’s growing entrepreneurial sector. I’ve successfully created and scaled businesses and managed teams across diverse environments. I can offer insights into how to navigate the challenges of building and running a business, establishing partnerships, developing market strategies, and maintaining strong branding. My background in creative problem-solving, innovation, and working in tech-related fields could help mentees gain a fresh perspective on their career paths
What are your expectations for a mentor-mentee relationship?
I believe a mentor-mentee relationship should be built on mutual respect, open communication, and trust. I expect the relationship to be collaborative, where both the mentor and mentee actively participate in setting goals, identifying opportunities for growth, and addressing challenges. I also expect a commitment to regular check-ins and transparency to ensure we stay aligned on the progress.
How do you approach problem-solving and conflict resolution?
My approach to problem-solving is solution-oriented and involves assessing the situation from multiple angles. I encourage creative thinking and collaboration to find the most effective path forward. For conflict resolution, I believe in fostering open and honest dialogue to understand the root cause of the issue and ensuring all parties are heard. My goal is always to find a balanced solution that strengthens relationships and moves projects forward.
How do you envision success for your mentee, and how will you measure it during the program?
Success for my mentee is about personal and professional growth. I envision success as my mentee gaining confidence, developing new skills, and overcoming obstacles in their career. We’ll set clear goals at the outset of the program and regularly reflect on progress. Success will be measured by the mentee’s ability to apply what they’ve learned to real-life challenges and move closer to their long-term career aspirations.
