About Meagan
Meagan Beyer is the Senior Vice President, Social Impact and Sustainability Director at American Savings Bank (ASB). She has 16 years of banking experience in finance, accounting, investor relations, risk management and sustainability.
Meagan joined ASB’s Risk Management team in 2021 where she managed the bank’s Third-Party Risk and Sarbanes Oxley programs and represented the Enterprise Risk team as a member of ASB’s Environmental, Social and Governance Core Team. With the support of the Core team, she took the lead in building out the bank’s greenhouse gas emissions inventory. In March 2024, Meagan moved into her current role of Social Impact and Sustainability Director. In this capacity, Meagan collaborates across the organization on social impact and sustainability strategy and reporting. Before joining ASB, she worked in management positions at FineMark National Bank & Trust, MUFG Union Bank and Bank of America.
Passionate about bringing real impact, Meagan has volunteered with Junior Achievement, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Taproot Foundation. She currently serves as treasurer of the Notre Dame Club of Hawaii. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Meagan holds dual bachelor’s degrees in finance and theology from the University of Notre Dame. She has her CPA in California and Florida. She is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington’s Graduate School of Business, the Patsy T. Mink Leadership Alliance and ASB’s Leadership Academy, a prestigious year-long program designed to provide leaders with a deeper understanding of leadership, professional skills, and banking.

Why do you want to become a mentor in this program?
To help someone become their best self, to encourage self-confidence, and to develop a future Hawaii leader
What specific skills, knowledge or experience can you share with your mentee?
Navigating role changes, network building, launching new programs and initiatives, and advocating for yourself
What are your expectations for a mentor-mentee relationship?
We learn and grow from each other. Mentee is open and honest about their goals and challenges. As a mentor, I will provide an objective and judgment-free sounding board leveraging prior and current experiences.
How do you approach problem-solving and conflict resolution?
Lots of listening and empathy mixed with direct communication
How do you envision success for your mentee, and how will you measure it during the program?
My mentee feels confident and certain in themselves and their path. Regular check-ins and open and honest conversations. In-person with a combination of informal check-ins and structured meetings.
