Aloha,
Thank you for this honor to serve as your Chair of The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii. These are challenging times for our state and it is more important than ever for you, the leaders in the business community, to come together to help your Chamber serve you better. All of you and all of the businesses you represent are the source of jobs and income for our families. You are the driving force behind our state economy and the heart and soul of who we are as a community. You are the decision makers. You are the leaders who advise our legislators and state, city, and county governments.
As your Chamber Chair I pledge to do my best in representing your interests. We will do our best to be fair, listen to your concerns, and represent the needs of the business community as a whole. We need your involvement so that we can represent you well. If the Chamber is to be an effective voice of business, it must be willing to take a stand even on tough issues. The legislature looks to us for guidance on business policy issues. As a result, there may be times when a position taken by the Chamber is not shared by everyone. We still need your involvement if we are to be a credible voice of business. There are many opportunities to be involved – through committees, through advocacy, through participation in events, through responding to surveys and emails. Help us serve you better by playing an active role in your Chamber.
